2nd Alarm Dwelling Fire at 30 Second Street

30 Second StEngine 1811 and Engine 1812 responded with the Catasauqua Fire Department for a structure fire at 30 Second Street, Catasauqua Borough.  The fire was spotted by a Catasauqua Police Officer on patrol, who notified the sleeping residents of the fire and evacuated them.

Engine 211 laid a supply into the scene and stopped short due to down power lines laying in the street and ultimately had 3 lines stretched and operating.  Ladder 231 met nose-to-nose with Engine 211 and set up to the roof.  Both Engine 1811 and 1812 went to Railroad Street in the rear of the property.

West Catasauqua Engine 3711 took position along Linden Street and stretched 2 1/2" attack line across the backyards to the fire building.  Han-Le-Co 3311 joined NCFD in the rear alley.  Also on the assignment was Nancy Run Special Services 1442 for cascade, Greenawalds Rescue 1141 for RIT, Northampton Regional EMS and Hanover Township EMS.

One firefighter was transported from the scene.  The firefighter was treated for dehydration and smoke inhalation and released from the hospital.
