2nd Alarm Apartment Building Fire

Engine 1811 and Attack 1871 responded to 545 Fourth Street, Catasauqua Boro, for a 2nd alarm apartment building fire.  Catasauqua Engine 211, Engine 212, and Truck 231 responded on the first alarm for a report of alarms sounding and smoke visible.  Upon arrival, firefighters called for the 2nd alarm as they arrived to a small kitchen fire in the 3 story multi-unit apartment building.




Engine 1811, Whitehall Fire 36 and 37, Han-Le-Co Fire 33, Greenawalds Rescue 1141 for RIT, and Nancy Run Rescue 1442 for cascade services were dispatched on the 2nd Alarm.


Station 2 personnel found fire on top of the stove with some minor extension to surroundings and knocked the fire with a pressurized water can.  A hose line was stretched from Engine 211 as a precaution.  Searches throughout the building was negative for victims however a smoke condition was pervasive.  Multiple fans were placed in service to evacuate the smoke and clear the building.
