2 Brush Fires with Northampton FD

Station 18 was dispatched twice for mutual aid response with Northampton Fire Dept for reported brush fires.


The first brush fire came in at 17:43 hours for a bush on fire at 1561 Lincoln Ave.  Chief 4251 arrived on scene and reported the fire was out.  Attack 4341 responded.  Chief 4251 recalled all units prior to their arrival.  


The second brush fire came in just under 2 hours later at 19:04 hours.  Multiple calls were received reporting a fire near the Coplay Bridge at West 9th St and Main St in Northampton Borough.  Other callers reported a fire on a Coplay side of the bridge and Station 5 was also dispatched by Lehigh County.  Attack 4341 responded initially and a crew stood by with Engine 4311.  Northampton Engines 4212 and 4213 responded from their station and Coplay Brush 561 responded as mutual aid after finding no fire on their side of the Lehigh River.


Units and personnel found a fire along the railroad tracks south of West 9th Street.  Attack 4341 gained access to the railroad right of way and extinguished the fire with personnel from Northampton and Coplay.  Brush 561 was used for additional water to extinguish and overhaul the fire.
