A Busy Saturday for Station 18

NCFD personnel found themselves busy on this windy Saturday.

At 10:13 am, Engine 1811 responded with Station 2 for a gas odor inside at 137 Canal Street, Catasauqua Boro.  UGI was on scene and the area was evacuated due to a strong odor of gas.

Immediately following the gas odor dispatch, Station 18 Fire Police were requested at 10:14 am by North Catasauqua Police for traffic control around drooping wires near Third and Grove Streets in North Catasauqua.

Later in the afternoon at 1:17 pm, Engine 1811 responded with Station 2 for a dwelling fire at 622 Third Street, Catasauqua Boro.  Companies found a moderate smoke condition from the basement with a small fire in the front of the basement underneath the porch.  A second alarm was initially requested and then recalled after a quick knockdown by the personnel in the basement.

Engine 1811 then responded at 1:58 pm to the area of Limestone and Eugene Streets in North Catasauqua for wires down.
