North Catasauqua Tree Lighting

Photo provided courtesy of Eric DeLabarThe 31st Annual North Catasauqua Tree Lighting was held November 28, 2010 at 6 pm at the North Catasauqua Park.   The event was organized by the North Catasauqua Recreation Committee.  The North Catasauqua Fire Dept transported Santa, Mrs. Claus and Rudolph the Reindeer from their sleigh to the park in Engine 1811 and Attack 1871.

Rudolph arrived at the park first and danced with 2010-2011 Little Miss North Catasauqua Hope Gino while the community chorus, We Sing! performed holiday favorites. Members of the Varsity C Club from Catasauqua High School served hot chocolate and popcorn from the refreshment stand.

Santa and Mrs. Claus greeted all of the children as they exited the fire engines.  The crowd counted down as Santa and Mrs. Claus  then turned on the lights of the Borough Christmas Tree, marking the beginning of the Holiday Season in the Borough of North Catasauqua.

Santa and Mrs. Claus proceeded across the park to the pavilion where kids could visit Santa and Mrs. Claus, letting them know what they would like for Christmas.  Over 170 children waited in line to see Santa.

Special Thanks to Captain Shawn McGinley, Firefighter Harry Huhn, and Mrs. Claus for their contributions.
