Motorcycle Bash & Poker Run

The 1st Annual North Catasauqua Motorcycle Bash and Poker Run was held yesterday at the North Catasauqua Park.  With clear skies and cool temperatures, it was a great day to be out on a two-wheeled machine.  The Bash and Poker Run were organized by the North Catasauqua Betterment Committee in support of their programs and the North Catasauqua Fire Department.

Approximately 25 motorcycles participated in the poker run.  The ride was led by Jack Thomas, former President and Assistant Chief of the Charotin Hose Co.  Stops included the Pocono Leather Company and Blocker's Harley-Davidson as the poker run traversed the Blue Mountain area.

Back at the park, the Charotin Hose Co. served up food and beverages at their food stand.   Participants and visitors feasted on hot dogs, hamburgers, pork BBQ, sausage sandwiches, and pierogies.  The pierogies and pork BBQ were big sellers at the Charotin food tent and sold out quickly.

At the Bike Show, the Betterment Committee gave out awards for the best appearing motorcycles in the categories below.

Best Appearing Cruise John Doe - Scranton, PA
Best Appearing Metric James Smith - Allentown, PA
Best Appearing Antique Harold Cotter - Catasauqua, PA
Best Appearing Custom Unknown - Nesquehoning, PA

The Poker Run was won by XXXX of XXXX, PA with a full house containing 2 Kings and 3 Queens. Congratulations to all the winners!

The Charotin Hose Co. would like to thank everyone who came out to support the Motorycle Bash and Poker Run.  We especially want to thank anyone who supported the fire company food tent as well as thank the Betterment Committee for extending the offer to provide the food at the Bash.  Hopefully, the event will continue to grow for next year for an even bigger Bash.
