Thoughts & Prayers to Webster (NY) Fire Department

The officers and members of the North Catasauqua Fire Department send their thoughts and prayers to the family and brothers of Webster Fire Dept Lt. Michael Chiapperini, a 20 year veteran of the Webster Police Dept and a lifetime firefighter, and Firefighter and 911 Dispatcher Tomasz Kaczowka.  Lt. Chiapperini and Firefighter Kaczowka were senselessly assassinated this morning while responding to a house fire.  The shooter reportedly set the fire as a trap to attack first responders.  The fire continued to rage while police secured the scene and evacuated residents.  Three homes were engulfed in flames and burned to the ground.  Three more homes were damaged by the fire.

Two other firefighters were injured and are currently in guarded condition with a long recovery ahead of them.  NCFD wishes Firefighter Joseph Hofsetter and Firefighter Theodore Scardino a speedy recovery.  Please send your wishes for a speedy recovery to Firefighters Hofsetter and Scardino.

Keep the family, friends, and fellow firefighters of Lt. Chiapperini and Firefighter Kaczowka in your thoughts this holiday season during this terrible loss.
