North Catasauqua Fire Dept was dispatched with the Northampton Fire Department for a dwelling fire at 910 Dewey Ave.  The caller reported black smoke from the chimney at that location.  Allen Twp FD and Northampton Regional EMS were also on the assignment.

Asst. Chief 4254 arrived on location and reported no smoke in the area.  NCFD and Allen Twp FD were held in station and to standby.  Engine 4212 investigated and found no problems.  All companies were released and placed available.

Attack 4341 responded with the Northampton Fire Department (Fire 42) and Northampton Regional EMS (EMS 49) for a brush fire along the Nor-Bath Trail off of Smith Lane in the area of the soccer fields.

Firefighters arrived to find a brush fire approximately 25x50 feet.  The bulk of the fire was knocked down quickly using an extinguisher to prevent further spread.  While wetting down the area, firefighters noticed a column of smoke further up into the woods and located a second brush fire.  Too deep and inaccessible for hose lines, crews donned indian tanks and hauled water by foot to the seat of the fire.  A third, much smaller fire, was also located and extinguished.

Attack 1871 responded with 4 firefighters for an automatic fire alarm with the Catasauqua Fire Department at the Catasauqua High Rise, 534 Third St.

Firefighters found burned food in Apt 411 caused the alarm.  Firefighters ventilated the apartment naturally and restored the alarm.  Units cleared within 15 minutes.

Engine 1811 was dispatched to a structure fire with the Catasauqua Fire Dept and Northampton Regional EMS at the auto repair shop at Lehigh Street and Poplar Street.  Asst Chief 1802 reported normal smoke from chimney on arrival and held Engine 1811 in station and to stand by.

CFD arrived and gained entry to the building.  Firefighters found a wood burning stove operating in a normal condition and cleared the scene.

Engine 4311 was dispatched for a dwelling fire at 1506 Laubach Ave in Northampton Boro with Northampton Fire 42, Allen Twp Fire 45, and Northampton Regional EMS 49.  The caller reported an odor of smoke at the front porch.  Initial responders found no fire and suspected an electrical problem.  Mutual aid companies were slowed or held in quarters.
